DESCRIPTION:Open for registration\n\n\n\nRegistration closes: 7 Apr 22\n\n\n\nNumber of participants: Min 12 / Max 18 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nThis two day\, Australian Resuscitation Council (ARC) accredited course\, aims to teach theory & practical skills to effectively manage cardiopulmonary arrests\, peri-assist situations & special circumstances\, whilst following the latest ARC guidelines. \n\n\n\nCourse content includes: \n\n\n\nRecognition\, assessment & management of life threatening arrhythmiasDefibrillationBasic & advanced airway management including Laryngeal Mask Airway (LMA) insertionLegal & ethical issues in resuscitation\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPre-requisite: \n\n\n\nCurrent Basic Life Support competent (evidence to be provided). \n\n\n\nOn succssful completion\, the participant receives a certificate valid for 4 years however it is an ARC recommendation that skills are updated at least annually. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nSuitable Participants: \n\n\n\nHealth professionals working within emergency departments\, intensive care\, high dependency\, coronary care\, operating theatres and retrieval\, and is required to lead a resuscitation team. Appropriate participants include Doctors\, Intensive Care Paramedics and Nurses. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCourse Cost: \n\n\n\nNorthern Territory Government staff members: $500 \n\n\n\nnon Northern Territory Government staff: $800 \n\n\n\n[prices and course availability are subject to change]

DESCRIPTION:Registration closes: \n\n\n\nNumber of participants: Min 12 / Max 18 \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCENA’s Trauma Nursing Program (TNP) builds upon your knowledge of the pathophysiology and epidemiology of common trauma conditions presenting to the Emergency Department\, as well as providing the opportunity to improve clinical skills in key trauma related areas. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nPre-requisite: \n\n\n\nBasic levels of competency in certain skills such as Basic Life Support and common monitoring equipment. \n\n\n\nSuitable applicants include nurses providing emergency care to trauma patients in metropolitan and major regional hospitals. It is also suitable for nurses working in small rural and remote emergency facilities. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nRegistrations \n\n\n\nAll registrations are online directly with College of Emergency Nursing Australasia (CENA) \n\n\n\nRegister Here \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n*NCCTRC will sponsor Northern Territory Government Department Health staff members working in the Northern Territory 50% of the TNP course cost. DESCRIPTION:Registration closes: 19 May 22\n\n\n\nNumber of participants: Max 12\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCriteria of Attendance \n\n\n\nThis course is limited to nursing and medical staff working in Emergency\, Surgical\, Intensive Care or Anaesthesia \, and those whose current role is to work in trauma team resuscitation. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nObjectives of the course is \n\n\n\nTo use a structured team approach for early recognition and stabilisation of traumatic emergencies presenting to the trauma centre \n\n\n\nEffective team leadership and team interaction \n\n\n\nSkills for working effectively at an organisational level\, including decision-making regarding consultation and disposition \n\n\n\nSkills for safe practice and error minimisation \n\n\n\nDeveloping an understanding of and familiarity with the concept of crisis resource management is a 1-day course to familiarise participants with the concepts of crisis resource management through the use of simulation based training scenarios. \n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\nCourse Cost: \n\n\n\nNorthern Territory Government staff members: No cost for attendance \n\n\n\nNon-Northern Territory Government staff: $130.00 (pp incl.GST)
